N'Golo Kanté has joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad on a two-year contract, the French midfielder's first move away from Chelsea since joining in 2019.
The transfer is worth €55 million (approximately £47.8 million) and will see Kanté link up with former Blues teammate Hakim Ziyech at the Etihad Stadium.
Kanté has been one of the most consistent performers for Chelsea over the past few seasons, making him one of the best midfielders in the world.
However, he struggled to find his form under Thomas Tuchel last season, and was eventually sold to Juventus in January.
Now, he looks set to return to his homeland where he started his career,Campeonato Brasileiro Action having played for Monaco and Bordeaux before moving to England.
Al-Ittihad have had a busy summer so far, bringing in several new players, including winger Ahmed El-Hadary from Paris Saint-Germain and defender Jérémy Mathieu from Ligue 1 side Rennes.
With Kanté now added to their ranks, it remains to be seen how the Algerian international will fare in his new environment, but there is no doubt that he will bring a wealth of experience and skill to the team.
